A new restaurant in Germantown, NY seeks several servers.
Opening in late winter 2026, this 50+ seat space will be a comfortable, unfussy neighborhood restaurant and destination for travelers. The menu will take an exploratory approach, referencing the Riviera (the French and the Italian, but especially the Italian) and the agriculture that surrounds us here in Columbia County.
The ideal servers will join a week or two prior to opening day. They will contribute to the establishment of systems, procedures, and culture. They will be interested in being part of a productive and kind team, bringing an attitude of curiosity and focus that will make ours a smooth and successful opening.
Working closely with the owner and service manager, the servers will:
Demonstrate the importance of preparedness
Receive communications on what to expect for a given service, and follow through on the intentions and priorities that are set
Uphold the standards of cleanliness and organization, taking a stake in making the space inviting to guests and ready for efficient use by the team
Listen and contribute to a continuous internal discussion of standards, procedures, product knowledge, and service steps
Support the Team and Guests
Advocate for the guest, considering their experience to be of pinnacle importance
Give and receive clear direction and communication, assisting teammates and relying on support when needed
Listen, share restaurant offerings, and guide guests at every stage of their engagement with the restaurant
Act as a true host, with a stake in the wellbeing and satisfaction of guests
The ideal candidate is not deterred, but rather is excited, to be a part of the opening process. They will be looking for an opportunity to cultivate positive rituals and find cohesion with a team. They will be knowledgeable and curious about food, drink, and hospitality. Various experience levels could be a fit, but good exposure to high-standard and/or ambitious restaurant environments is most appropriate.
Health insurance, paid time off, and a stipend for travel are a few of the benefits that will be available at three months’ tenure. Staff meal ranging from decent to superb will be available from day one.
We are a pair of operators with backgrounds in Philadelphia, NYC and the Hudson Valley who are opening a restaurant because we want to create a great place to work. We don’t think anything really good can happen without accomplishing that first.
If you’d like to apply, please reach out to Avery Jannelli.
